Coconut Peat

Coconut Peat or ‘Coco Peat’ is the coir fiber pith obtained as a bi-product when coconut husks are processed for the extraction of the long coconut fibers. Depending on the specifications of the final product, the pith can be washed, buffered or simply graded before being processed into various products by compressing into bales for horticultural and agricultural applications.

The peat is a completely natural growing medium. It is rapidly becoming a vital substrate in potting soil mixes as its benefits over alternatives such as peat moss are being recognized globally. The high water retention capacity and porous texture of coco peat provide the perfect environment for germination and promotes a strong and healthy root system. Using coco peat allows you to significantly reduce the frequency of watering crop and even reduce the use of chemical nutrients. It is an Eco-friendly substrate and is 100% biodegradable improving both the physical and biological condition of the soil.

Coco peat is widely used in applications such as hydroponic growing, potting soil mixes, plant propagation, turf farming, rice farming, vegetable gardens as well as for orchid cultivation, rose cultivation and cut flowers besides its many other applications agricultural and horticulture.
